A rustic-colored viscet heavily limped through a dark alleyway, his mane drenched in what seemed to be water; it had been raining that stormy night, after all. His eyes, which had bags under them, seemed to look around with panic: He had not been in such dark areas of the streets before...and now, he was scared of what could happen. He slowly let his helmet drop over his paranoid-stricken face as he continued his way down the path.
He let out a sigh as he continued his way through the path before finding himself staring down another alleyway which led to the outer limits of the city. He had never traveled so far, though he had to be brave; he couldn't stand the thought of the rest of his pack telling him off about how cowardly and useless he was. He took a deep breath and started to head down before spotting what seemed to be a human figure that was sitting on the ground, staring at a puddle with his gray and black hair plastered to his face and ripped up jacket from the rain. Jay backed away, his eyes wide and fearful, and slowly started to creep away, walking backwards at this point before realizing the human was looking at him with a creepy sharp-toothed smile and red eyes. He swallowed hard as he now started to blindly take off back into the maze of building not wanting to have anything to do with….whatever that humanoid creature was.
He took a few deep breaths, panting as he leaned himself up against a building while shivering from the cold. He should of never have left; he should've just come out during the day or something to prove himself. Why did he decide that nighttime was the best time, again? Suddenly, he heard a raspy voice from behind him, which made him stop dead in his tracks as his heart started to pound deep in his chest as footsteps came near.
“Hello,” it said through the silent air, and the brown viscet felt all of his blood drain from his face. He tried to bring himself to move, but fear froze him as well as curiosity--and slowly he turned around to now face the creature...no a ...viscet? The viscet had the same red eyes and sharp tooth grin as the human in the alley had. This struck fear into the smaller viscet as he finally found himself able to take a step back. The viscet looked confused as the red eyed viscet now stepped out into a broken light that was going off and on, and his face had a calm smile.
“You seem lost. Are you hurt? I don't have much, but I’m sure I can help you, buddy,” he said, reaching for a bag and pulling out a pack of bandages holding them out to Jay who just started at them while biting his lip.
“Oh come on you know what I’m saying right? Uh…hell-o, my name is Jack,” he said as if Jay didn't have any clue as to what he was saying. Jay soon realized he was talking to him and shook his head to snap out of it.
“Uh, thanks...I guess,” he said with shivers going through his legs as he slowly grabbed the bandages in his mouth and sat down to slowly wrap the bandages around his scratched up leg; he had gotten the wound from tripping and sliding on his side earlier on. He made a small whimper and tightened it to stop any blood from leaking through before standing up and looking at the strange viscet. He seemed put together with his chains on his horns to the torn up patched jacket that had probably been with him for years. His face was ruffled up as if he just been sleeping around on the hard ground for many days though, unlike himself, he didn't have any bags under his eyes so he must have been getting good sleep anyways.
“Where did you come from little fella?” The messy viscet asked, shaking his head as if to get the water out of it which came to no avail only just splashed a little in Jay’s face, who quickly blinked it off. Jay looked at him for a moment unsure of what to say, not wanting to admit to the failure in his pack, so he just let out a muffled huff and bit his lip thinking of a excuse to why he was out so late at night.
“Well you see..I got lost when I, um, was trying to find my way back to my pack,” he said, and guilt suddenly arose for telling the lie-- but it quickly disappeared when he realized he was talking to an absolute stranger. That made it okay, didn’t it? He shook off the thought as the bigger viscet blinked in understanding.
”Do you need any help home?” he said, flickering his tail as the younger viscet sheepishly smiled; how could he just ignore such a kind offer? But--it would surely give his lie away.
“That would be lovely, thank you so much-” He cut himself off as he realized he did not remember the viscet’s name. What did he say when they first saw each other? In the process of trying to remember, he was interrupted by the other viscet.
“Jack. My name’s Jack. Feel free to call me by any other nicknames, soldier,” he said jokingly with a wink, tapping the viscets helm who looked a bit shocked to how freely Jack spoke to a viscet he didn’t even know at all.
“Uhh, my name’s Jay. Umm, I don’t really have any nicknames-”
“Ahh, yes, Jay it is then. Now, then, my fine helmet friend, do you remember where you came from and what area your pack is at?” Jack said, turning to look down the alley that Jay had managed to get himself lost in. Jay bit his lip, now realizing that he was really lost. He tried to gather up everything that he did just a few hours ago before recollecting his pack's location.
“Well, currently my pack is located off to the north near the abandoned human club. Hopefully Valentine hasn't moved the pack yet and forgotten about me.” He shivered in realization that Valentine could’ve left off somewhere with the the rest of the pack, leaving him behind because of him being a weak link to the group. He quickly gulped, now looking up to Jack for help, now realizing that he only had meant this viscet just about 15 minutes ago, so he didn't know if he could even trust let alone bring the viscet around the rest of his pack. Valentine would surely be angry with him if he was indeed still there and the fact that he brought an intruder into the midst of things.
Note;
hey i’m sorry that that it didn't start off from Jack's pov I wanted to make it have more of a connection with the character meeting another character from a different character's point of view,from now on though in the next chapters it will be from Jack's point of view more thank you so much for having any interest in reading my story <3
